Chilean-born
guitar virtuoso RODRIGO FIGUEROA brought a distinctive
musical style to Vancouver island when he moved to Campbell River ,
BC. Canada in 1993. Rodrigo has impressed audiences with his outstanding
ability to play different styles of music including Spanish, Latin,
Brazilian, Blues, and North American. In addition to his versatility,
his technical spectrum includes flat-picking, open tunings and a percussive
approach to guitar techniques. Rodrigo has performed throughout British
Columbia and the Pacific Northwest in the USA. He has showcased his
talents at various music venues including Vancouver Island Music Fest
(Comox Valley), Island's Music Fest (Duncan), Sunshine Coast Music Fest
(Powell River), the Du Maurier Jazz Festival in Victoria, Vancouver
and Calgary, and Victoria's Roots festival to name a few. He has earned
the privilege of playing with outstanding musicians including |
Sting,
Chick Corea, Pat Metheny and has been recognized by Eric Clapton. His
distinctive style of music has been enjoyed nationwide through CBC Radio
and Television. 
Having recently recorded his third album, "CAMINOS" , Rodrigo's
musical journey has evolved and matured, based on his experiences in
his new country. The new CD, which is arranged, performed, and produced
entirely by Rodrigo, demonstrates his ability not only as a sensitive
player but as a gifted composer. Caminos (Roads) delivers a remarkable
display of intricate guitar techniques and complex rhythmic patters
coupled with intense emotion. |
